I just bought the HP zx5000 series notebook, customized of course.
    Specs:
    Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHz w/HT Technology
    Microsoft Windows XP Home
    512MB DDR SDRAM (1x512MB)
60 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
    DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
    802.11b Wireless LAN w/ Built in 56K Modem+10/100 LAN
    15.4" WVA WSXGA+ (1680x1050)
    128MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9600
    Microsoft Works/Money
    12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Those were my customizable options, so these are in addition to all thebells and whistles that come with the notebook already.

After a student discount, 100$ coupon, free shipping and no tax the total i paid was $1426.56 and i still have a 50$ rebate when i get the computer.

What do you all think? I don't know very much about computers but this seemed to be the best deal i could find.

    Enlighten me...

Yeah, it looks good. I like the 1x512mb ram so that you can upgrade easily in the future.

It's a good deal to me. That configuration is pretty much the exact same thing I'm going to be getting.

    Looks good.

Ambuletz, if you know how to install memory you may want to consider getting a 1x256mb in your notebook, and then getting a 1x512mb from online, it usually costs the same as upgrading to a 1x512mb on HP.

Longboards, don't use the $50 rebate, there's a $100 rebate if you look in the rebates section thats good until 9/1/2004, bringing your final price down to around $1325
