If I recover a 2530p from recovery partition, will I get the language choice again?

I have a new 2530p here. When I start it up it shows a screen where I can choose what language I want to install of Windows Vista.

If I choose a language, can I later recover the laptop to it's original state, so I can choose the language again?

if it's new it should not be a clean installation but the hp specific installation (which i had on the 2730p). so it should contain a recovery partition, and you should be able to burn disks.

now i don't know if that would mean restore to the default state before or after setting up stuff like language... :s

how about just making an image and then try?

i never restored yet with my disks so far :) never had the need.

but i'd guess it should recover to initial state, as if you took it out of the deliverybox.

so i would say yes, but i'm not sure per se.

That's what I think too. I'll try it.

Making an image would be good too but I don't want to open it up now.

    Thanks!

There's no DVD drive. If I want to make an image, I'll need to get the HDD out and hook it up to my other computer.

no, just a) boot from some usb-stick with an imaging tool on it, and create the image onto the a1) stick a2) external usb hdd.

    or

    b) just start it, and then say "create disks" and it allows you to create iso files, which you then can transfer b1) over the network b2) onto a usbstick or b3) onto an external hdd.

yep, the recovery-disk-creation-tool by hp creates iso files which you then can burn when ever you like to.

i still have them somewhere on my homeserver. never used, and most likely never will.. :)

It worked. Recovery partition put it back in 100% original state.

    thanks for the help Dave.
