It looks a lot like the Dell site. I never really took notice of the old HP site, so i can't really comment on the difference, but I don't think the new sites all too bad.

Well they're just trying to hit people up who want a PC for a certain task..

I do like the old one better.

Now I just await the new vista models they said they're holding back

Works the same for me as did the old site.

I like the new layout, and no, I don't think it looks like the hideous Dell site.

    CANNOT agree more.

This is a common tendency these days, many bad webdesigners clutter the internet.

I would never give up ease of navigation to the fancy look. HP did. And lost my respect even more, after dropping support of SXGA screens. No longer shop HP.

Looks like Hp decided to ditch the Compaq/HP separation. I doubt it'll work.

I like it when you can simply see all the models available and all the options you can buy. Now, its very much like dell, where they give you "preconfigured" computers, which is pointless in my opinion. People who shop online, usually tend to know more about computers and about what they want to buy. Amateurs usually tend to simply go to Best Buy and buy the one that looks best...

I will agree it does look to me like they are trying to make it appear as if they have more models available than they really do.

Personally, though, I like the way they reorganized the site; I think it makes it easier to compare different laptops--less clicking back and forth and back and forth.
