I'm wondering, if you uninstall software to clean install manually, will it disappear from SwSetup? Or will it stay there, so then I may reinstall it if i accidentally uninstall something necessary? I was wondering if i could reinstall HP stuff so my stuff can update easily. These are the HP folders i have.

If you uninstall a particular software utility bundled with HP, the SwSetup files will not disappear nor change. The files in SwSetup are meant to be installers or scripts meant to install a particular software utility. If you do a clean install, make sure you have the folders you want in SwSetup backed up to a different type of media (or partition). That way, it will be easy for you to install them after your clean installation is complete.

uninstall does not remove installers. you can reinstall the program with the installer in the swsetup.

It will not disappear BUT it is possible to accidently delete files from that folder. I recommend you make a copy of the SWSetup folder to DVD and archive it.
