Theres a couple out now a fujitsu and some of the less know brands are using the MT series.

The MT series are the Turion chips that run at 25 watts. They are just a little slower then the ML series, from what I have heard, but they have much better battery life.

it was a a CTO (customize to order) deal at office depot back at the end of september (this thread is kind of old) so it's been expired for a long time but office depot, staples, and circuit city have been known to have this notebook on sale pretty cheap from time to time if you check the sunday newspapers.

    My HP dv5036ea has a ML-32 (1,8ghz, 512Kb L2).
I don't know if my x200m is a 32 or 128mb and I don't know if I have Bluetooth and Lightscribe features. The dvd burner is GSA-4082n.
    How could I know?
Is there any one that can help me?

Control Panel/ Device Manager - bluetooth and Lightscribe devices should be there.
As for the video: how much RAM did you purchase? Now, right click on My computer will show you the available amount of RAM. If it's equal to the amount you bought - you have the 128mb version (128mb dedicated + optional 128 shared). If it's 32mb less, then obviously you have the 32mb card.

    Thanks,
    It's 32mb less :(
There's no BT, my wireless card is a Broadcom 4918.
Lightscribe is not reported in control panel, but Sonic says that is possible to use Lightscribe features

Do You think, I'll lose warranty If I change harddisk with a bigger one?

Thanks a lot for infos :)

it's strange. They should not even offer the 32mb card.
This card is very weak...someohow, I can't find the specifications of the model in HP's webpage...Do you have a memory card reader, firewire and expansion port #2? If you have those you have the 128mb version. I don't believe HP will sell intentionally this laptop with 32mb video card..

No you won't void the warranty by changing the HDD, DVD drive or RAM.

No, I don't have memory card reader. Only 2 usb ports

:( and no firewire. The model is dv5036ea. Pcwiard says there is a Broadcom 4908 a/b/g, but I read on the card 4918 b/g. Somethinkg wrong on the sticker?

If I were you I would return it, unless you thing it will suit you of course. It cannot cost less than $700-750 or even more and for this money you can get a much better notebook

I think he should able to adjust Video memory in bios to 128MB if he wants. But remaining things he has to decide if he is okay with those.

dv5000 is configurable with either 32mb or 128mb hypermemory card. The 128mb version has productivity ports by defaut, so he does not have this one, obviously.. I don't know if the 32 mb version is 32mb dedicated and 128mb shared ...? I rather take it as only 32mb shared

It is same as V2000z, you should be able to set VIdeo memory to 128MB in bios
" ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M with 32MB shared video memory is the ideal blend of performance that brings you a visual, cinematic experience. Integrate 3D images into applications to create exciting multimedia presentations and share large spreadsheets or other documents simultaneously across two screens without scrolling. User configurable up to 128MB video memory. Shared video memory (UMA) uses part of the total system memory for video performance. System memory dedicated to video performance is not available for other use by other programs. Note - this disclaimer affects system memory, and Graphics"

I think this thread has run its course and with more Turion models being available the poll has lost its usefulness. Time to put this thread to rest.

    Closed.
