Well I just had to ask HP about the option to upgrade the dv6500t to the fictional 320GB, 7200 RPM hard drive, so I figured I'd post the conversation with the sales rep for all to.... em.. enjoy..![]()
....![]()
So there you have it, multiple misprints (yes, the seperate description of the drive even said 320GB 7200rpm) are in fact possible even in the largest companies![]()

LOL
Typical -
Heh, heh. At least they are now aware of it. Lets see how long it takes to get fixed........
-
Maybe it uses two hard drives(2*160gb), because I check the hard drive descriptions(help me choose), it lists the 200gb as 100gb*2.
-
The dv6000/6500 series only holds one drive. There is no room for another. -
i love when talking to dell people, i'll say somthing and they will be like "really... we do that" or "They do that now" stuff, they usually dont know anything. Forexample, the day before vista came out, i asked if they were getting them any time soon, stating that it came out tomarrow... and they said "im sorry, you must be mistaken, it is the beta test coming out next month and the software will not be complete until next month." then i say... No it;s tomarrow... beta 2 has been out for a while. "oh, let me ask my superviser..... he said that we dont know"

I want somebody to order one with the fictional drive, see what happens.

It might be funny in a nerdy sort of way (I mean *really*, who could POSSIBLY not know that they don't make 320GB drives at 7200RPM. *snort* *snort*), but seriously, cut these people some slack. They are not call center workers because they are the smartest and spend all their free time obsessing over notebook computers, or when the darn geforce 8 laptops are going to ship.
They are relatively low wage workers who have to put up with crap all day from people on the phone, and probably have a language barrier to deal with. They are doing their best, and while it's fine to air your frustration over an experience, making fun of people just trying to make a living is not the way to be a decent human being. -
I was just noting how it seems that every time you talk to a representative from some big company like HP, Dell, etc. they really don't know what they are talking about that much... But what's worse, is that HP made this error and didn't proofread the dang CTO website before making it publicThink about it, there are probably many people that have paid actual money for a dv6500t with this falsely advertised 320GB drive. What happens to those people when they find out that they paid $150 for something they aren't getting? I think it's fair to expect a little more from a company like HP.
If you've got no clue what you're selling, clap your hands!! *Clap Clap*
