I had a hard time finding pictures of the 12 cell battery before I bought my laptop. Hopefully this can help some people make the decision. Yes it's a bit ugly, but I think its worth it. :)

Nice pics man. Looks exactly like mine lol. except my 12 cell battery is 3rd party therefore is not manufactured by HP but it still manages to produce 5-6hrs max and I got it relatively cheaper than HP's original MSRP price. (I paid 70 dollars cheaper for a brand new one personally though I still have my 6 cell which is used as a primary and my 12 cell is used as a backup so all in all I get about 7hrs max) DV2500T FTW!!

hey neofx19, where exactly did you buy your 3rd party battries from? and what did you look for? I ask this because I live in canada and want to know what I have to search for on a canadian site. thanks

PS: one thing that struck me when i looked at the pictures was that the battery is not centered. Does this make it awkward to use on lap or on a desktop?

Personally weight isn't much of an issue. The added height caused by the 12 cell battery does in fact make the notebook cooling more efficient, and also aids in typing efficiency. Having the notebook placed on the lap with the 12 cell can make it a bit awkward because the 12 cell battery is a bit off center, but you can become easily accustomed to it if you frequently have your notebook on your lap. As for placing the notebook on a table or desk, it will sit perfectly still when you use your notebook.

Hmmm, sounds good. I wish I could have seen these before I made my purchase (dont know if I still would have gotten the 12 cell though). Its a bit too much weight as my backpack is already very heavy, but I may invest in it in the future.
