I'm currently interested in buying a dv4t-5100 notebook, but HP Germany can not give any information about availability.
Has anyone experience with importing notebooks to germany with a reshipping service ? I'm a bit concerned about warranty and having a 3rd party handling my notebook.

In my experience the tariffs imposed by the country you import into and cost of shipping are so high it almost becomes a losing value proposition, despite the lower costs of electronics in the U.S. That's the experience I had shipping a laptop to a family member in the U.K. Also, if the dv4t-5100 is not sold in your region then HP will not support it there. Certain laptops are only sold in certain regions, the local sales teams decide whether to market and sell a laptop their company is producing. Also, the reshipping industry is rife with scams and fly-by-night companies that scam people. I hate to say it, but I'd avoid this route. The best option is if you or friends/relatives are traveling on holiday to the U.S. to pickup a laptop you want and bring it back on the airline they traveled on.
