HP and Compaq offer imprint finishes for extra $$. I was wondering what the difference looks like between imprint and normal fnishes.
I have a Compaq with imprint finish, and I am thinking of buying another laptop for a friend. I have hard times finding pictures of the laptops without the imprint finish.
Can somebody point me to a site or soething?

HP/Compaq notebooks without Imprint basically have the same design, only with the matte plastic inside and painted LCD lid like their older lines.

I prefer the Imprint Finish. It's scratch resistant which is worth the upgrade, my opinion of course.

    I agree with that.

One reason I went with the Imprint Finish.

I agree the scratch reietance part alone is a reason to upgrade

I had a V3000 for about three months with not a mark on it. With enough force nothing is completely scratch resistant.

if u in a tight budget like me and don't care about the firewire and card reader
u can prefer standard imprint for a more RAM
when i order a month ago i have a tight budget about 700 dollars
and i choose more ram to 1 gig from 512 mb than imprint finish (it cost the same around 50 dollars)

when i got the v3000z it's still has a nice good looking laptop

and i satisfied with my laptop , 740 dollar got TL-52 and 1 gig ram
    if i choose imprint finish , i can't get 1 gig ram only 512mb

    sorry for my bad english

    here's the picture

go with imprint finish... the normal finish looks cheap for me

... go to your nearest computer store and see the difference
