    Heya all,

I finally received my (correctly configured, this time) replacement lappy for my zv5000z that had a stuck CPU speed issue. One thing I noticed was that one of them has Hyundai DDR-333 and the other has Infineon DDR-333. Both are 512MB x 2.
I am wondering who has experience with the Hyundai ram. I am familiar with the Infineon ram, but not Hyundai's, as far as performance. Does anyone know how they stack up compared to each other performance wise? Any other info that someone has about one vs. the other would be helpful as well.

    Cheers,

    Stevo

the General perception of Infineon Ram is that its horrible, ive never used it. if u get Infineon Ram on a Vid card however steer clear. Cheap ram isnt always the best way to go Samsung Makes the best modules. I havent even heard of Hyndai Ram its probably better then infineon, Bench the Ram with Sisoft sandra that will give u a clearer picture.

They're probably both PC2700 CAS2.5, so performance should be identical. So long as MemTest86+ says it's OK and your favorite CPU benchmark/torture test completes without crashing, you're good to go. PC3200 would be nice but it's not worth the trouble of switching IMHO.

As a rule I prefer Micron (Crucial) RAM for notebooks because it has the least compatibility trouble. Kingston is supposed to be good too. The old F.03 BIOS for the zv5000z/R3000z had compatibility problems with damn near everything except Micron RAM, including the Infineon RAM HP shipped, but newer BIOS revisions fixed much of that. The experience soured me on Infineon though.

Hyundai is the other big Korean RAM maker, not as good as Samsung.

    So brianstretch,

Am I seeing that your general opinion is that the Hyundai ram has a pretty good chance of being better (quality) than the Infineon?
Thanks AJVETT for you input as well.
