I'm looking to order a DV7tse soon and have read mixed reviews about the infinity screen upgrade. It seems to be mostly a design aesthetic with no real benefit to image quality. In fact, some owners claimed increased glare and dust behind the infinity layer.

Is there a general consensus that the $50 option for the infinity is a cosmetic benefit only.

    Thanks!

Personally, when I compared, the infinity display looked less bright and the glare is even worse than normal glossy screens.

Also, many of the infinity screens have a tendency to get dust in them, which requires disassembly to fix

They do look nice though :D

If I were to choose, I wouldn't get the infinity display

Thanks. That reassures my leaning toward the non-infinity display.
