The CPU states it is 800mhz fsb so that should be santa rosa? and just cuz it doesnt have the new wireless card doesnt make it not a santa rosa notebook but probably not centrino compliant.

Looks like there's no longer dedicated graphics card options if these are to replace the nc6400 and nc8430 models. I'm pretty glad there's no major design changes, thus not making my current notebook dated after only 5 months.

My mistake in translating. Because HP cant deliver complete Santa Rosa platform due to some legal issues with Intel they use old WLAN adapter. It will be replaced afther 9th of May with a/b/g/pre-n. But notebooks will look 95% like 6510.

Ok browsing through the service manuals of the nc6400 and the 6510b I noticed that new model is actually thicker and weights a bit more!!!
    Copy paste from the manuals:

    nc6400

    Dimensions: 13.0 x 9.4 x 1.1~1.3" (331 x 239 x 29~34 mm)

    Weight: 4.9lbs (2.2kgr)

[in reallity it weights 5.08lbs (2.3kgr) on a digital scale including optical drive and 6-cell battery]

    6510b

    Dimensions: 13.03 x 9.57 x 1.32~1.56" (331 x 243 x 34~40 mm)

    Weight: 5.38lbs (2.44kgr)

Also the 6510b still lacks the option of a Webcam and an Expresscard slot, these for example are available on the Lenovo Z61t a model quite similar to the HP nc6400 in terms of weight and size.

    I'm a bit disappointed...

(not to mention the absence of a DVI output which I admit is rare).

Model that will replace nc6400 is called 6910p; 651x is only resized 671x (follower of nx7300 and nx7400). It will feature PCMCIA (ExpressCard is only on TabletPC announced for 3rd quarter) and there is no info about webcam yet.

Oh that's right. The 6910p will have the ATI X2300 option too. I should probably stop looking at these so I won't find my nc6400 dated.

    chrixx:
Don't worry, X2300 is just a renamed X1300, so new features will moreless include only better CPU, draft-n wireless support and Robson technology.
