Initial shipping

Was wondering about shipping after you order your laptop from HP. My estimated ship date is the 20th of Feb, which is tomorrow and I would have figured it would have shipped out early. It seems many people on this board had theirs ship before the estimated date. When should I start to worry if it doesn't ship by? Thanks for your help.

 

One day after my ship date I'd be concerned, but you're not there yet. My bet is it'll ship tomorrow as planned. My rig was preconfigured a couple weeks before I ordered it, which most likely influenced my early ship date.

I Was wondering about shipping after I orderd my laptop from HP on the 8th of Feb, My estimated ship date is the 17th of Feb, which was last Friday and I haven't had a tracking number on the order status link yet and haven't received any email from HP, should I call HP if it doesn't ship by tonight?

Wow...doggle that is exactly my situation... HP people do not know much themselves...

 

I got mine the day before the estimated build date earlier this month. I think FedEx took about three days to get from China to Florida. Hope that helps.

 

What are you planning on doing? If you find a helpful number, could you pass it my way, I'd really appreciate it.

 

Segadc, what system did you order? I ordered a customized DV5000z Laptop. I called HP this morning and they wasn't any help, I plan on calling them again this afternoon and maybe someone else will be more knowleagble, I keep ya'll informed.

I just called HP Again 1 (800)892-6607), this time the person on the phone said there are no delays noted at the plant and it should ship before Friday (you think) If not call them back and they will trace it to it's whereabout. I'm not used to having to wait this long on shipping.

 

From all that I've read, not only in this forum but elsewhere, the dv5000 is a very popular model. That must be affecting the building and shipping of some of your systems.

 

I myself got a V5000Z so hopefully everything will ship soon. Thanks for all the replies.

 

hmmm its kinda wierd. i ordered my dv4000 on feb. 7 and i got it the 18 and i live in texas. it took 2 days from china to my house. well maybe its cause i ordered a dv4000 and not a dv5000 but its seems kinda wierd for it not to ship by now. so yea try calling HP cause i bet you someone in there knows something.

I called HP this afternoon and of course they have no idea. I even talked to the manager or whatever and he had no clue!

I hope it's the same case with me...

Yep, I called 3 times also and talked to the managers also without any help but the first email I sent I got a reply within 2 hours and my tracking number which still isn't listed on the HP order status page, so you should get yours tomorrow also but I would send and email just in case. I went to FedEx and it said it will be delivered at 10:30am tomorrow.

It arrived @ 10:50am! Luckily I had someone stay home to recieve it!

 

Wow i am so impressed with Compaq's free shipping!! MY laptop went from china to my home town in a SINGLE DAY.

Mine was supposed to ship by the 15th. But there was a delay, and it shipped on the 17th instead. Arrived in my city on the 21st. Which is very acceptable given that the 17th-21st covered Sat and Sun.

But what does irk me is that I never did receive the tracking number, so I never knew the laptop had already arrived until, well, I came back from work on the Feb 21st evening and saw the FedEx sticker on my door.

 

I am about to order a v2000z from them for a customer...how in the hell do they get off charging $70-80 to ship a 5-6 pound laptop?

 

Because it is shipped from China and arrives at your door usually within 2-4 days.

 

Huh. Alrighty then. Still a tough pill to swallow when they are also charging sales tax. So we pay the unit price, PLUS $120 for shipping and tax. Yes, a bitter pill, lol.

 

Wait go for the free shipping if possible... It won't make much a of difference...

 

I just got an email saying my notebook just shipped. LOL!
