I recently boughted a Pavilion dv4000, but (I'm from Brazil) the notebook was formated in order that it came with a portuguese windows version. And who formated didn't install quickplay, so I don't know how to install it without formating windows, I have PartitionMagic installed, so if anyone can tell me a way to create a partition or whatever it needs, because I tried many ways with partition magic but the quickplay setup always said that there were insuficient space or something like that. If there is another way without using PartitionMagic tell me, I'm open to sugestions.

Repartition the HD to leave ~204MB of unpartition space. Make sure it is not in any primary partition. Install the QP1.x from the CD. That's it.

OK, but I think I tried this, i'm going to try again, but just to be sure, if it's not primary I should create it as Logical? And it must be before of after C:, or it doesn't matter?

forget about it, it worked, thanks for the help. The curious is that I had already tried that, and another note for someone that has the same problem, the unpartitioned space must be 212MB (acording to the small book that came with the notebook about quickplay).

No. The unpartition space would not be in any logical or primary partition before you run the QP installation. I just want to say to make it 212MB, but it seems you find that out. It appears as 204MB after the installation. I have that at the end of the HD while others have it in the beginning of the HD. If it is at the end of the HD, you need to re-run the installation every time you add or delete a partition.

Yes. It is here, however, so far it only works in DV16xx, DV5000 and DV8000 but not DV4000.
