Last August (2010), I purchased a dv6tse (3000 series I think) from HP. At the time, the only screen resolution available was 1366x768. Now I see they're offering a full HD 1080p screen for the dv6t, so would it be possible for me to purchase and install one of those 1080p screens on my older dv6t?
If so, what parts/tools are required, and where is a trustworthy place to purchase them from? From the reading I've done, it seems I'll need some sort of FHD cord along with the screen itself.
Thanks, any and all help would be much appreciated! My ONLY complaint with this laptop is the lackluster screen resolution.
PS - I currently have a touchscreen, so if I could get a 1080p touch screen that would be ideal, but I'm fine with a regular screen as well.

I'm not sure if the following will apply to your model as it was for the dv6t-6000 series. Look at my signature for: HP DV6T Display Replacement and that should give you an idea to what screen to look for and how to change it but be warned that this could or could not work on the dv6t-3000.
Hope this does help and work for your model. Let's hope someone else has more informaiton about it for your model. -
