    Hi,

I'm interested in installing Vista on my DV8000t. I just want a clean install, not an upgrade, and I know that it's a big ordeal to reinstall Windows XP. So I guess what I'm asking is, is there anything special I need to do to install Vista? I know already that I'll lose bootable quickplay, but I'm willing to lose it for Vista. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

put cd in disk drive, then restart the notebook. Then when you see boot from cd. press any key. From there u should see a Window, maybe gray in color showing your hard drive or drives. On the bottom right hand, there should be a options buttom ( i think) . click it, and u will see one saying FORMAT if I am not mistaken.. This is where u format ur drive to get the clean install of Vista... Every thing else is a breeze afterwards.
You can get QuickPlay back from hp.com customer service.
or you can try this link here that I got from them... encase you don't have a QuickPlay disc.
