    Installing WINXP over Vista on Compaq 8510w

    heya...

    I have a Compaq 8510w stock and clean installed vista ultimate.
    I know want to go back to vista however every time I run xp, install
    is unable to find a hard drive. Any suggestion?

    Why exactly do you want to go back to XP? Anyway, you have to disable ahci in the bios for it to detect the hard drive; that or provide the sata drivers when the installer is loading.

    Ayle, I find that my laptop runs faster under xp than it does
    under vista, personal preference i guess.
