I own a Hp Pavillion dv6700 series entertainment laptop(DV6736NR) that the HArd drive crashed out of warranty thng was a year old but worked awesome. I notice when looking of the device manager that the laptop was a 32 bit os on a 64 bit MB . The OS was Windows Vista home 32 bit this PC came with great media appts including a remote control so I was thinking how much more Awesome would it be if I added 128mg SSD Hard drive for system with Windows 8 64 bit which just came out. So tell me if this is possible or worth doing I was also thinking about changing out the ramm so the 64 bit would recognize it max is 4 gig eithier way

yes, you could install a fresh copy of windows onto a new hard drive and the machine would run like new again, assuming that the old hard drive is what's currently wrong with it. with an ssd it'd actually run even faster than it did brand new. the dv6736nr has a sata II slot, so you might consider these 120GB and 128GB drives (i've narrowed them down to sata II for you). if you were to install a 64-bit version of windows on the drive, and for both W7 and W8 alike, you're correct that 4GB is the maximum amount of memory that the machine supports.
i think that these might be worthwhile upgrades if you were to spend no more than $60-$90. if the processor is in fact an AMD turion TL-60, then you can see here that that particular chip is a little old. that's why i wouldn't spend much more than that on upgrading this machine. the nice thing however, is that if you were to purchase an ssd, it could be used in newer and future machines of yours.

I just hope I can find 64 bit drivers for this machine I am getting the OS and SSD drive today Ill be spending most of the day getting the drivers . Here is anotherquestion can I flash the BIO's chip with out it in the running state or should I wait till I install OS first then flash it?

The drivers are in the HP driver section. All of them working well for me.
