    Installing XP PROBLEM!!!!

    Hi, i have a Presario C315LA notebook!, i want to reinstall Windows XP ( i have my own windows) i dont have any disk from compaq!, i just have a partition but i can't access...well, i insert de cd, boot, and perfect, BUT!....when the windows says choose a hard drive for install, it doesn't appear any drive!!... :confused: :confused: :confused: , i need to format the pc urgent and i cant!.. please help me!

    You will need to either slipstream the SATA drivers onto the Windows CD or disable native SATA support(if there is an option to do so) in the BIOS and then install Windows XP.

    EDIT: You will have to burn the recovery discs on your own(software to do so should be in your All Programs menu). Many manufacturers dont include the recovery discs. I suggest buring the recovery discs before trying to install Windows from your CD.
