Hello, I just purchased a new HP Pavilion dv2500. It came with Viste, which I knew and don't want, and I wish to install Windows XP Pro (full retail version - not OEM).

The issue is that when I install from CD, the XP installer doesn't recognize the SATA hard drive. I've searched around for solutions but I'm now stuck.

Any suggestions on what to do? I think the biggest issue is that even if I found the correct drivers, my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive, and the XP installer searches for additional drivers (after I press F6) on the floppy drive, which doesn't exist.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I hadn't seen it. I took at look and it helped solve the issues. Thanks,
