So I got this little 6735s for 350 bucks a week ago and so far I am very happy ecept that Vista is like running a V8 in a Honda.

The laptop was bought through Comp USA but i emailed HP anyway and told them that "before I send this laptop back to the store due to the Vista OS, I would like to know where I can get a free XP disk."

So to make a long story short, they are sending me an XP disk to install and they also sent me a link with XP drivers but also said all the drivers I need will be on the new disk that the link was just for newer updates.

My question, finally....has anyone done this and am I asking for trouble? I want a clean install but not sure i can.

Sure. Wipe out the existing harddisk and install with the new disk.

Use DBAN to wipe the drive
