    Hey guys,
I am wondering if anyone out there has installed an SSD in an Envy 14-u200 series. I am seriously considering putting a Samsung EVO 850 in mine. Some of the questions I have:

    1. No SSDs are offered by HP which indicates "they" don't support it. But Won't it work?

    2. It looks like it is just a regular 2.5, if someone done it, can you confirm? I am worried it is an mSATA.

    3. From what I read this requires taking the entire bottom cover off. is that a big deal?

    4. Since this is an extensive repair, will this void my warranty? what if it is returned to original state before servicing, if needed?

    Any input is appreciated!!

All I can tell you is that you'll probably void your warranty technically, but if you shut up and let them discover there was third-party tampering without indicating you were behind it, they will probably honor it anyway. I had to send in an Envy after having installed a Blu-ray writer, but I never noted I did it myself once they told me someone else had serviced it. They honored the warranty, believe it or not.
