Heh, good luck with that...

My advice: return it ASAP and get a laptop from a different vendor which allows such customizations and does not lock it with RSA-sha1 signature
    like HP.

Is it possible to install DV6-6100 series BIOS to DV4-3100 series?
Coz DV4-3100 series have the same Switchable graphics issue as DV6 which earlier had.

    Check on this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...n-whitelist-hp-authorized-wireless-cards.html
There was a mod done to ONLY unlock the WLAN card, however it causes semibrick in some cases if you go into bios. So set the options (enable VT or changed to Fixed gfx) on your current bios before you install the modded bios.

    Hi All,

I'd love to do this myself but am running out of time to get it done. Here is my BIOS sp55068.exe.

If anyone could help me out, or at least point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi everyone,
I have bought Hp dv4i 2100 cto for 1 years,
Now i want to unlock some advanced settings in my InsydeH2O BIOS, such as convert SATA into IDE to check disk by Hirent boot CD, unfortunately my hard-disk has some error. I tried so many ways to mod this BIOS but my ability can't do that.
Here the link of this BIOS http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51636.exe
    Released: 2011-01-17
    Version: F.0F
Compatibility: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit), Microsoft Windows XP
Fix/Enhancement: - Fixes an issue where HP Support Assistant version 5.0 inadvertently reports the battery as failing when the battery check is run.
    Please help me.
    Thank you so much.

Is there any reason for me to keep requesting a BIOS mod (remove white list for wifi cards) for an HP Insyde RSA signed BIOS (sp55375, Intel, F.12)? I've made these requests in other forums but not here. Anyone here have any luck?

    Thanks...

Visit the mydigitallife forum for help with BIOS mods. Some guys there do amazing mode.

For instance; I had my DV5 bios modded to unlock IDE mode, SLIC 2.1, No whitelist and a few other goodies I forgot.

So go there as sign up, then post in the correct thread.

Same thing happened with T-Mobile when they locked their phones. Now, due to a class action, they are required to provide unlock codes so the phones can be used on other carriers networks.

This BIOS locking isn't much different, and if I would have known, I would have purchased a different laptop.

The lease they could do is provide an unlock method for those people that actually need it.

unlocking a phone so that you can change carriers is different from unlocking bios and allowing you to screw up your computer.

sure, there are failsafes built into the bios settings, but the consequences are different from punching in an unlock code.

99% of major brand pc's will not have an unlocked bios. So next time don't buy major brand

Actually, Dell, and even higher end HP's have unlocked BIOS.

And updating a wifi card, or changing drive modes are not dangerous to the laptop.

Why is no one in his whole board trying to help me? No one even gives me a hint on how to mod my 1810t-BIOS and if I'm trying it myself it will fail anyway.

Example, I was trying to use the Insydecodr-Python-Scripts and get this error when running main.py:
    I follwed this guide:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...ding-dv4-dv5-dv6-dv7-least-4.html#post6165204
    by .Netroller 3D

How can I fix this damn error?

I'm really pissed off. People are always tellng one to use google, but I already did for the last 3 hours and what am I left with? Stupid Python-error-messages.

    Hi All,
I have an HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us laptop. The Insyde bios in this laptop is giving ACPI errors when I am trying to install an older OS. I was wondering if some kind soul can 'fix' the ACPI tables in this bios. Following is the link to the HP bios.

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp57001-57500/sp57474.exe

If modding this bios is too much time consuming, then any helpful tips or pointers would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Go to mydigitallife forums as ask there. In fact, there are many there that will mod the BIOS for you.

I don't know why people keep posting to this thread when no one has posted a BIOS mod in a long, long time.
