Hi there everyone, new guy here - just bought myself an HP Dv6-6160se and have just briefly tried it out on some games (which handle great, if I might add).
Now, I'm using CPUID HW Monitor to monitor my temps, but for some reason my dedicated 6770m 2GB is not listed - is that because the integrated HD 3000 graphics are the default, unless I tell it to use dedicated (as I have done with my games)? This tends to be an issue when I cannot check my dedicated card's temps when playing some of my games.
Also, is it normal for the integrated graphics to still heat up when my games are not using them, but my dedicated graphics instead? I realize they will obviously get warm due to ambient temps rising as gaming continues, but HW Monitor is stating that the max temps for my integrated are reaching 109 C! Conversely, for some other strange reason, HW Monitor does not read my integrated card's current or minimum temps (they are both constantly listed as 0C (32F) degrees)...
What are my solutions to fix this issue? Do I need to download a different temperature monitor program (HW Monitor has always worked perfectly on my other PC's)? If so, what are some good options (I haven't used any other before)? Or do I need to even disable the integrated graphics thru my BIOS? Which, I might add, absolutely DO NOT want to do. I like the idle battery life my PC can achieve when not gaming.
Thanks for any and all your help!![]()

It didnt list it because you arent using the 6770.You just need to go into bios and set the switching graphics to fixed not dynamic , and then you can manually switch between high performance gpu ( 6770) when gaming and power saving ( intel hd ) when doing normal stuff . It is reading this temperature because you were using the intel hd in games , i guess .Hope i helped

I wasn't using the Intel HD in games as I was getting great performance that was indicative of the 6770m's graphics being used. Maybe just a glitch I suppose.
Anyways, thanks for your input! -
Surprisingly the Intel HD 3000 card isn't the worse integrated gamer in the world. I personally play Skyrim on:
Textures: High
Radical Blur: Low
Shadows: Off [I use a mod called Colourful Lights which makes shadows useless]
Decals: High
I get an average of 30 FPS everywhere.
