Hi guys
just wanted to know that is it possible to use a 6200WIFI N in place of the 5100 that came with the laptop
1) do intel products need to be listed to work with DV5T (that is the bios and the resistive panel on the laptop)
2) if incase (a big maybe) a BIOS rolls out, does it affect what WIFI module u might have
3) i have been trying my utmost to get dimensions on the 5100 , but apparently the PDF listing such specs are corrupted in the PDF on the Intel website.....the 6200 however is listed as being a half mini card pci-ex 26.80mm x30.00mm x2.4 mm...so bottom line is would it fit into the DV5T WLAN area
thanks guys awaiting your reponses
as regards to performance delta got a great link from right here in Notebookreview

Nope, can't be done because of the whitelist in BIOS. So if you tried, your notebook wouldn't even post (start up) or start up with an error code and halt there.
Unless you're up for BIOS modding. No guarantees though. But if you're the type that likes to get down and dirty, that would be the avenue to take. -
what about a 5300.......that's a good mix of features -
No dice on that either. 5100 is the only Intel whitelisted in the BIOS.
Alternatively, there's Broadcom's 4322 and 4321 a/b/g/n/ cards. -

So does this mean it would be possible to upgrade my dv7-4280us to the intel 5100 card?
