I was reading another forum and it seems like Intel made a big boo boo regarding making these chips. It basically has errors and if not corrected might compromise your system. It's like the first Pentiums with the calculation errors. Have you guys heard anything about this? Here's the web site.

Not nearly as bad as the first Pentium problem. This is just a microcode exploitation problem. Yes, it's bad, but it's not really a big deal.

I don't think it's that big of a deal for typical consumers.

What concerns me is coders can write codes in these areas and wreak havoc even though we're the "typical" consumers and probably won't know if the system has been hacked. Do you believe Intel will have a massive recall? Intel is telling the manufacturers to quietly fix the problem but how come it hasn't been mentioned much in the media? Is Intel afraid of a massive backlash and lose their lead in the market? Shouldn't consumers have the right to know about this? What about Core2Duos used in defense systems and in the fields?

yes they should recall the processors if they cant find a way to patch them via the net. and they are probably worried about having to recall everyone's CPUs which will cost them ALOT but also will jeopardize their reputation.

The C2D in particular is the only reason AMD are losing market share, the fact that Intel may have pushed the product to release before any major fixes and checkups were done will certainly begin to backfire on intel if they are forced to recall whole systems.

Now these coders have heard the news and will probably be busy writing programs trying to access these "holes". Intel will fall flat on their faces and their stocks will tumble. The time is now to admit the flaw.
