I know the Turion 64 dual-core is coming, but not yet. My V2000Z ML-37 shipped today and I looked and noticed that the dual core celerons are available on the same chasis.

would anyone have a dual-core celeron over a 64-bit amd?

Are you kidding? I have not heard about dual core celerons.

Centrino Duo tech. Uses one processor with two celeron cores

I'd stick with the Turion. If you actually need a dual-core CPU you'll probably want 64-bit Windows Vista when it comes out and the Core Duo can't do that. The Turion should get better battery life than the Duo. The V2000z's ATI GPU is about twice as fast as the V2000T's Intel GPU and should be noticibly better in Vista. And, finally, the V2000T looks to be $400-$600 more expensive than the z depending on which Core Duo you get and its time before shipment is nearly a month longer too. (I think that's everything...)

Where did you come across that. There are no dual core Celerons. The only dual cores available right now are the Core Duo which are essentially 2 improved Pentium M cores.

Also dual core does not necessarily mean better performance. Depending on your use, it might improve a whole lot or just be an slight improvement considering the premium you pay for new technology, it is not not worth it IMO for the average user.

I would suggest that you try the Turion and then decide whether the performance is enough for you or not(HP has a 21 day return policy).
