Call me crazy, but I actually want the Intel Integrated graphics for the dv7t. This was offered a couple months ago but now the only options are for NVidia chips. Will the integrated graphics ever come back or are they gone for good?

Also, what happened to the regular edition dv5t? The special edition is nice and all, but I don't care about the fancy case. Are the new low-resolution 16:9 laptops taking over completely?

DV7T is on it's way out...

    DV5T is discontinued.

16:9 is here to stay. LCD manufacturers are phasing out 16:10 production except for specialty industries. Thank Hi-def for it. Notebooks today are billed as multimedia devices.

Bloody hell. I made a mistake back in January when I passed on a $300-off coupon that brought the dv7t w/ Blu-ray down to ~$700. Instead I was lured to the WUXGA screen of the Dell Studio 15 only to find out that the the build quality and touchpad are horrible, among other things. The Studio 15 is being returned today.

Think HP will run some good sales on their remainder of dv series stock or should I buy now before "HD" takes over?

Dunno. But here's a $300 off coupon code that I think still works. Give it a try. Not sure if it's stackable or not.

    $300 off code: NB4355

    $300 Off Code: NB4593
    $30 Off Code: SV2132

alternatively, you can wait for a 30% coupon that will decrease your cost significantly. my $2,279 machine unit came out to $1585 or so after i used the 30% discount in august 08.

the downside is that the 30% coupon is as elusive as big foot. you never know when he's gonna pop up and when he does, you better be ready.

Second code gives me $100 off the dv7t, neither code works on the dv5t. Thanks for those.

Why i hate these new random size screens. If i want two hard drives i will need a massive 18.4 inch now thats bull. 16:9 sucks its lower resolution then 16:10. Example 1920 x 1200 vs 1920 x 1080.
