    Intel SATA AHCI Controller

    I have a new HP EliteBook 8530p..... In the BIOS I have 3 choices regarding the SATA drives....

    1) AHCI
    2) IDE
    3) ???

    What is the difference????

    If you already have an OS installed - Do not change anything.
    Those settings control the HDD Mode.

    AHCI should be default.

    where can i obtain the sata drivers from? we are trying to build an image from scratch and HP has been no help providing the drivers we need to inject during the OS installation. Can someone help me with this?
