Does intel x3100 have HDMI or DVI ports, and how essential it is considering that it should be future proof for atleast a couple years.
Also, does x3100 support dual screen. I've seen it on a comp. with nvidia, where if you connect it to a projector, then you can show some part on the projector while viewing something else on the laptop screen.

The x3100 does not have HDMI or DVI, only VGA, but you can run a dual monitor setup with it through the VGA.

I have an XPS M1330 and it has the Intel X3100 and HDMI out.

I tried playing with it for a few minutes last night with my 50in TV and it worked but was having trouble finding the right resolution of the TV. It kept switching the resolution.

Also it seemed to give me three options when switching displays, external display only, mirror displays, and dual displays.

I have a hdmi-DVI cable so I will test it with an external monitor when I get a chance, see if the TV was giving me problems.
