So I intalled SP1 onto my Vista Ultimate x86 install a week or so ago, and after having some odd behavior (I think caused by some malware that snuck onto my machine), I ran Windows in Safe Mode to run some tools, then ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic...
Lo and behold, now my System Information page shows 4 GB of RAM- which up to today I'd never seen listed (usually 3.06 GB was what showed). I'd be less enthused, but this is on a dv9000T running Windows Vista Ultimate x86 (f.29 BIOS)!
I'm not sure if it's been reading 4GB since the install of SP1 or not- frankly I never checked because I'm aware of the Windows limitation on the 32-bit OS to read over 3GB of RAM.
Interesting...at least to me. Now the question is- is it all actually ADDRESSABLE? Methinks I need to do more digging into that aspect of things now.

No it just shows how much you installed. You cant use it.

I didn't think it would be addressable...but it's a change in that it's even being reported...for all I know, it's been reporting it since I upgraded the BIOS a couple weeks prior to installing SP1...

what does task manager show?

The usual 3069 MB...I wonder why SysInfo is reading that there's 4 GB now though? Oh well...once I go back to the x64 version, it will matter.
Interesting change to my System Info page...
