I had an issue with 2 brand new hp pavilions where neither of their internal web cams worked. One was a dv9700 and the other is a dv6853cl. I searched on here for the issue and found one thread about downloading an acer chicony driver and installing it. Well it worked for the 9000 but not the 6000, anyone have anymore advice on what I might be able to do?

Well if uninstalling the drivers and software and reinstalling with either the same software or different software I would say it is a hardware problem. The first DV6000 I purchased I had to return because the webcam stopped working after the first day of use.
