My HP dv6500t's power adapter says that it is 110-240v and 50-60Hz compatible. Same as my MacBook.

Apple's "World Traveler's Kit" is basically a bunch of interchangeable plugs that you connect to the AC adapter.

So for my HP, I should only need a converter that converts the 3 prong grounded US plug to a grounded Philippines plug, correct? The AC adapter itself claims it can handle the different voltage, so I just need to convert the actual plug, correct?

I've emailed HP since their site claims the adapters are not made to work in other countries, so I'm waiting for an email back. But the adapter itself claims it can handle different voltages and it should be able to get by with a plug adapter. And thats exactly how the adapter for my MacBook works.

    Thanks for any help.

Yeah you'll just need an adapter. My HP one works fine :) All notebook AC adapters should be dual voltage.

The power supply should be multi voltage and frequency so all you need is a plug adaptor. This site suggests that the Philippines may have 3 alternatives. I ought to know since I worked there some years back but the fact I can't remember the details suggests that were weren't big problems connecting to the wall sockets (probably a quick trip to the local market and get a power strip which has different types of sockets).

Thanks guys. Thats what I thought.

I felt a little silly asking that question, but better safe than sorry.

Just curious,I bought mine 2 weeks back in US and the cable has Awhite tag WHICH Says" 125V 7A" . So can I use the same cable with 240v? I think power adaptor is 100v-240v.It should be fine.

How come urs is 250v?did u bought it in US or outside?

Just use a three prong-to-two-prong adapter.
