Is "AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK55" a Turion?
Also, I just bought a HP Pavilion DV6615eo and on the box it only says "AMD Athlon 64 TK55, there is no "X2" on the package? I don't want to open the box if it's not "X2" and if it's not a Turion.
I need to know so that I can return it in time![]()

Technically it is not a turion but it is a 65nm version / cut-down budget version OF a turion. Yes it is an X2 there are only X2 TK-55's. It should have the relative performance of a Turion TL-56 but its 65nm, so more battery life, and less power consumption and heat.

"so more battery life, and less power consumption and heat." - is that the Athlon or Turion?
So which has better performance, Athlon or Turion? -
brianstretch Notebook Virtuoso
Turion. TK series chips have half the usual L2 cache but are otherwise the same as their Turion equivalents.

But are they really equal? Which one is better and how much better?
Is "AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK55" Turion??
