    Hello, HP hunting in Ireland :)

    HP Compaq nx6325
    * AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual Core TL-60 2 GHz
    * 1GB DDRII-667MHz SDRAM
    * 80GB Hard Drive
    * DVDRW Multi Drive
    * 15" TFT Screen - 1400 x 1050 resolution
    * ATI Radeon Xpress 1150
    * Integrated gigabit LAN
    * Integrated wireless 802.11a/b/g LAN
    * Integrated Bluetooth

    This is a pretty decent balance of specs for the price I think ?
    (~1100 euro or $1400 US at current rates - my max budget)

    Any suggestions for this or an alternate notebook for the money ? :eek:

    Also another nx6325 thread talks about screen wiewing/light bleeding
    or sparkling issues - isn't this a business notebook ? (i.e. better quality
    build?) - Is this a common problem ?

    Also I'm a little concerned about an AMD Turion X2 TL-60 2GHz system
    being noisy and/or hot - anyone ?

    The Turion X2 burns about as much electricity as the Core2Duo, so no problems there. The various AMD chipsets burn more power than Intel's but the Xpress 1150 is a much better GPU than anything Intel makes. Anyhow, good choice.

    If its used strictly for business needs the screen wont bother you. However, if you use it for entertainment purposes(not just occasionally), then I suggest u think of something else. As far as the build quality, its very good indeed as implied by being a business laptop. Look for Lenovo N100 with Core (2) Duo. U get build quality, dual core, and 15.4 WXGA screen for the same $.
