I like this V3000 very much, but I am not happy with the weak graphic card now.

Does anone knows if HP gonna add some better graphic option for this laptop? I notice since the v2000, HP already forgot about gamer market. Maybe they say 14" is too small for dedicated card concerning about heat problem, but I also dont see their 15" machine got any X1600.

Maybe they think evry gamer should get a 17" giant.

I don't think they're gonna upgrade The 7200 GO wasn't even available at first. If they were gonna put in better graphics, they should have skipped the 7200 from the start. The 7200 was the best I've seen in a 14" from HP (unfortunately).

I'm afraid HP just doesn't like to put good graphics cards in their PCs, at least not in anything with less than a 15" screen. :(

But trust me, they could and they SHOULD!!!

HP should make up for all these laptops with bad graphics and release a 12" with a 7900GTX. That'd take the world by suprise. But, alas, that is *impossible*.

    Well its HP - Invent.

Anyhow, HP has a nasty habit of gimping their laptops with poor graphics cards. I jumped for joy when they put a x700 onto their dv4000/v4000. Now I wish they did that more often. >_<

Not with the V3000 since its a compaq line which they dont offer as much as upgradability options when purchasing as pavilions thats the main and really only difference that separetes the two from eachother

Compaq's been limited to releasing value-oriented (meaning graphics w/ shared memory) products since their acquisition and the trend's not going to change anytime soon. Sorry man, I doubt it.

its really the same reason dell's e1405 doesn't have dedicated..they don't want to redesign it to fit a dedicated gpu heat wise since that's extra development cost for them..its too bad really..look to compal/asus for 14" with good dedicated cards

HP's sales would noticably increase if they could put decent graphics cards in their notebooks.

I feel so bad for Compaq, it was such a large company, now absorbed by HP and Compaq notebooks are now just watered down versions of HP's notebooks. Shame shame. :( :( :(

Yet, I don't think the inreased sales volume will compensate for the initial investment in the production line...otherwise HP would've done it but they simply target a different market segment.
