I'm looking at ordering a dv2000t soon, and I'm considering getting the 3 year extended warranty/accident protection plan. Is it worth it? What are people's experience with HP's laptop support?

To be honest, I have been considering adding it to dv2000t, as well.
If you have an issue that is not covered under warranty, it appears that HP's minimum charge is $298 (in my experience). In addition, without the accidental protection coverage, there is a good chance that they will try to weasle out of what should be "in warranty repairs" with an excuse of excessive user wear, etc. I had an issue that I had to really push to get resolved- a key popped off an in warranty notebook and they tried tirelessly to get out of fixing it. First they said that it popped off due to excessive use... next they tried to say that the undermount was broken due to having used the keyboard without the key... The ironic thing was that the fix for the supposedly broken undermount was the same as the fix for just the missing key. I finally got them to honor the warranty by stating that the additional problem did not excuse them from correcting the original defect. It took escalation of the issue and hours on the phone....
I would also be interested in anyone's experience with the additional warranty... -
Here is a similar thread, along with my take on it.

I always buy the warranty. It came in handy when my harddrive crashed on my old laptop. Free harddrive as long as I sent the crashed one back.

are you guys talking about the standard or the accidental warranty?
I'm debating which warranty I should buy. -
I believe this is what I have 2-year HP Express Repair Extended Service Plan for HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario Notebook PCs.
