I've an older (2003) hp pavilion laptop that has quit. I've removed the hard drive. Is the laptop now safe to recycle? In other words: is any personal information or data stored anywhere else on this machine?

Copy that, Indrek. The only drive that I've been unable to open is the floppy disc drive.
