    can this be done:????

    I have a hp pavilion zx5040ca, and my friend has a brand new DELL desktop.


    What I want to know, is it possible for me to connect my laptop to his computer and burn data off my computer onto his DVD BURNER?

    Yes, you can use a cross over cable throught the ethernet ports.

    Yes, but with eight wires. Get a crossover ethernet cable. Plug it into both computers. Set the IP Address to 192.168.0.1 on one and 192.168.0.2 on the other. You should be able to map a network drive and get access to the drive on the second computer. You should be able to get a crossover cable at BestBuy/CompUSA/OfficeMax/etc.
