    Hey there,

My computer (after undervolting) runs idle at about 50 degrees and under load at 60. I'm noticing that the fan isn't going during idle and when it under load it isn't going as fast as it could (before undervolting using cpu clock 2.1)
Is there some way to make the fan run/run faster?

    Specs: Turion ml-28. @1.6Ghz 512mb RAM, 80gb hdd, CPU Clock 2.1

Specs are not enough, tell us what brand laptop u have. Also, u could try speedfan, but its not compatible with every single laptop out there, so that's why we need to know what manufacturer it is.

Well if the compaq didnt come with any power utilities, then u can try the forementioned speedfan.

    hey,

thanks for the advice, but i dont' seem to be able to control my fan's speeds with that utility? It doesn't seem to recognize the fan. Am i messing up somehow, or are there any other options?

The fan is controlled from the BIOS. HP made several improvements in the fan's cycle since the early release of that model (and the Livestrong notebook). At first the fan would kick off at 50, then they increased it to 55 or 58.

You can make the thing go constantly the hard way - open up the notebook and connect the fan to an internal usb or I don't know. There are some guides that tell how to connect which wires.

However, the ideal solution is to get a cooler.
