    as title states, my laptop has not even arived but i am depressed that there is not a baclkit keyboard option. Thanks, Brad.

    At the moment - you can't. Although I think that Chinese will figure out something :)

    You could have waited a week or two for the new Pavilion series since it's most likely it will have a backlit keyboard option

    Isn't the envy keyboard the same where I could pick up a new envy keyboard? Also HP had a 35% sale that ended last Saturday or else I would have waited. I picked up a core i7 (2.2 to 3.1) 2GB ati 7690m, free 8GB ram, 750GB 7200rpm, full HD all for $1018.04
