I have a DV9824 that I love except for the fact the right shift key is single key size and not the normal size of a regular keyboard. This is irritating as it causes me problems when typing.

Is there an alternate keyboard that I can replace this one with that would be compatible and still have the full size keyboard...including the full sized right shift key?

I would appreciate any information you can give me.

Very easy to replace on most notebooks. I just replaced one on a dv6500t which took me all of 10 minutes.. Found a you tube video showing which screws.. a few on back, then taking off speaker grill, a few more screws, and disconnect the keyboard cable assembly.. I bought the new keyboard on amazon for like 10 bucks.. I also recently replace one on a dell 630m i was fixing up for a niece in Fiji and that was about as easy if not easier.

Just look up the part on amazon or ebay, then just google the instructions to replace. Just about anybody can do it.

Here is a link for keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/HQRP-Keyboard...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1290829108&sr=8-1

I could not find instructions for that model.. but maybe HP has it or someone else can help out here.

Or you could just replace the key itself.. buy here: http://www.laptop-keys.com/?gclid=CLGykKOMwKUCFYle2godXiD1Yw
