Okay so im going to order the, DV7t but i had some questions about the specs.

    1. Should i upgrade from a 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive to a 320GB 7200RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (160GB x 2) for $100 ?

    2. should i upgrade Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.4 GHz) to a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T9400 (2.53 GHz) for $100?

    3. Should I get the FREE DESKJET D1560 PRINTER (after $70 rebate)?
Is the rebate usually just in cash form? or do you think it would be HP dollars?
If its its cash form I might just sell it on ebay

Yep, cach money, and deffentally do the $100 for the Processor upgrade. It is an upgrade from 3MB L2 Cache to 6MB L2 Cache, deff worth it. On the hard drive, most people say there isn't a difference in performance between the 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM, (I went for the 7200 RPM though ;) )

1.Yes! The higher RPM, the quicker your vista will boot up. The faster your videos will compress and the fastr data will process.

2.No because you wont notice a difference in performance with 0.13GHZ

3.Yes if you don't mind shelling out $$ now and getting a refund later.

I would argure against evrything he just said. For one, there is not a noticable difference between the RPM speeds and proformance, and benchmarks show it. And yes it is worth it to go with the better processor because of the L2 Cache, it will make a big difference, it also has a notacible higher multiplier. And you cant go wrong with FREE anything.

1)Get the lowest HDD there and buy one aftermarket and upgrade it yourself. HP charges a ridiculous price for HDD.
Get the 250Gb and use that money to get this if you want the 7200rpm drive.
    2) Not much of a difference if all you do is internet surfing and listening to music, plus school works. People just don't know how powerful CPUs are these days, unless you're going to run some big applications, save your money for something else. The P8600 will get the job just fine.

    1. Absolutely not...7200 RPM is worth MAYBE 50 bucks...not 100

    2. Yes, .13 GHz may not sound like much...but a 6MB cache kicks the **** out of a 3 MB cache.

    3. Sure...might as well...especially if it's free.

Depends on what tasks, it's not much of a difference on normal tasks. You won't notice 1 or 2 seconds slower.

rebate = money. I don't think hp has gift cards or store credit.
