Hello all. I seem to be in a really big mess. Help will be appreciated.
Let me first narrate to you what happened. I Hibernated my Laptop last night. There seemed to be a lot of activity within the laptop when I tried to do that(HD activity), but it hibernated successfully.
I woke this morning only to find that when I try to switch it back on, the Blue Battery LED flashes. This freaked me out and I quickly plugged it in and switched it back on. All seems ok but to my dismay the battery had completely discharged over the course of the night. I am still confused as to what happened.
But I continued to charge it. It charged completely in the designated time and showed a 100%. I tentatively took it off the charger a few times just to assure myself that all was fine which seemed to be the case as well.
Come evening after using it for sometime I decided to plug it back in to charge it back up and it now refuses to charge. The Blue LED signifying the charging procedure does not show up. The Blue LED around the charger port is fine as well and the laptop runs fine without the battery, plugged only into the AC Port.
What is even more weird is that even when I plug the charger out the laptop runs nicely on the remaining battery about 90% right now. As of now I am just running using AC keeping the charge intact till I get views on what is happening.
I have tried removing the AC Port and Battery and holding the Power on button for a minute but to no help.
I am really baffled by these issues considering this Laptop is barely 8 months hold. Please help.

How old is your battery..? 8 months? And how many times you have discharged it fully? Because the bigger these two numbers, the more the probability that your battery's given up.. .
It could be an issue with the charging circuit.. -
Yeah my laptop was bought at the start of February. I initially hated taking it off charging thinking that it might prolong the life. After reading that this is the wrong way of prolonging life I started using it regularly by discharging and then charging. I generally discharged it to levels of 40-50%. I have even re calibrated the battery three times.
@S_P_Q_R, I cannot install the Software. Probably because it is for XP? I do not want to discharge it manually as there is no way of recharging it.
BTW how hard is it to rectify the charging circuit? It would be of interest to you that as soon as I plug in Windows shows the battery charge as 100%.
Is my battery dead?
