I know everyone has had this question asked about 1000 times a day, but since I am new to this board and have very little computer knowlege, please forgive me. I have an HP DV6226us laptop. I recieved this laptop from my wife after my desktop crapped out. It is a refurbished one and should be good enough for running basic microsoft office programs on it. Of course being a guy, I have to play some games. I am not really into the new games, apologies to the WOW people. I like the old school ones like diablo and age of empires. Will this be good enough to run those? I don't want to sift through my boxes in storage only to find out they don't work. Thanks in advance to everyone.

if i / we might know

what is the spec for your HP DV6226?

but old games, especially like Diablo2 and AOE series should be very playable in any of the today's laptop

the best way to know is to try the games you mentioned on that machine. I'm sure you have the discs or could download trials.

To put it simply, no. The newest game that is worth noting that will run on there would be WoW. A friend of mine has that same model of notebook. WoW runs like crap even with downgrading to XP and upgrading the RAM to 2GB.

To answer your question, yes you can play old games like age of empires even though your computer dont have the best specification compared to what we have today, its should be capable of playing old game with no problem.
