Is the HP dv4t any good, because I don't know how good the build quality is, how well the design is etc. I want to know if this laptop would be a good laptop for portability, watching movies, internet, Microsoft office, encoding music and video, etc. Just a laptop that is good for everything but gaming, can someone help me please
P.S.: I'm a Sophomore in High School and I'm 16 years old.

Yea it's great for everything but gaming. I'd recommend buying one online with the LED backlit screen, it's very nice. Downsides are that the battery life isn't that great and it runs a little hot but otherwise it's a great value.

i'm 15 goin on 16, and i love it. It's amazing in terms of portability, heat (doesn't overheat), wireless, media capabilities. Like Aleman said, the Graphics card aint too great but so far i've been able to get crysis WH, stalker, and grid working on the comp without overclocking. I'd highly recommend this notebook, just check that the quicklaunch buttons work wen u get it coz mine don't work

The DV4t is a 14 inch notebook. It's primarily great for portability. Gaming would not be excellent on this notebook as you could imagine. I own the DV7T and the DV4T and DV5T all resemble one another. My DV7T is rock solid and everything seems to be sturdy. I have owned HP notebooks for a while now and they always win me over in the ruggedly sturdy quality section. HP notebooks are not flimsy and have very little flex on the keyboard.
If you're a student or an avid user of the PC for work, then the DV4T would be more than sufficient for you. A few of the older games would work for sure and more modern games if they work at all would probably need to be ran on EXTREMELY low.
I hope this helps somewhat. Just make sure you do not make the mistake of other people by NOT getting the extended warranty. The inevitable can happen at any time and you need to be prepared. An extra $100-200 is cheaper than another $1000 purchase. -
