    Is the NC8430 WXGA screen matte also?

    I see that the WSXGA+ is matte but was curious if the WXGA is also.

    Yes, it is.
    All HP Compaqs in the nc/nx/tc range have matte screens, as far as I know.

    nx9420 has an option for Brightview, so not all of them are matte. But the great majority of them are matte.
