What is the difference between the tx2000 and the tx1000 besides that it is now touch screen and has an active digitalizer or w/e. Didnt the tx1000 have a touch screen option before? For 300 less plus the 400 off coupon the tx1000 seems like a much better deal. Did they change anything else that makes it run more smoothly?

its weird i went to customize both and it looks like the tx100z can be customized more allowing the

    AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-66 (2.3 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache )

while the newer tx200z only let you put in a

    AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-64 (2.2 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache )

everything else pretty much seems the same except the lid

How you tried using the $400 off coupon. I just tried to order the tx1000z with the coupon (made sure the price was over $1199) and it says it is not a valid coupon code. I used NB9400.

Make sure to take any Student Discount or Manufacturer discount off before you use the coupon otherwise you will get that code. If that still doesn't work then the coupon code is no longer available.

Thanks. I tried that now and it stills states it is no longer valid. Quite a bummer, because I was excited about buying the laptop. I guess I will wait a little while to see if another code pops up.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

I thought the 2000 has an "active" screen or something which is better for writing and drawing?

From 2.3 to 2.2 is no difference... I'd love to have someone show me a difference in real life use....

Hmm... I was looking at this notebook as well... wanted something cheap to take notes so I could put away my pen and paper.

    Anyone purchase this device yet?

edit: yes, I think it may be worth it according this this review: http://www.tabletpcreview.com/default.asp?newsID=1055

But I guess it depends on how you calculate "worth." lol I'll have to play with it and see other reviews before I make a firm decision....

The main difference is that the 2000 has an active digitizer screen which makes is a true tablet. With the 1000's you cannot write on it like you can with the 2000.
