    Is the latch on the 8710p plastic?

    Just like the title says. Anyone know if the actual hooks for the latch on the 8710p are plastic? I know its a small concern, but I worry about build quality, and hate it when the latch is made of plastic, as I am afraid it will break. Thanks in advance for any input.

    as I read your question I decided to mess with my latch (I am on my 8710p right now) and it is indeed plastic.

    It has not whatsoever made me worrisome about the build quality though and I have taken this notebook with me back and forth to work (in an Ogio bag) since I got it 3 weeks ago.

    Hope this helps :) It's an amazing machine.
