Dv 4000 bar bought at office depot. One year manuf. warranty. In case I need to send it, do they require to send it in the original package?

Pretty sure you don't, but phone in and check. I think you just need lots of bubble wrap and a box provided by them through FedEx/UPS/etc.
-
No, you won't need the original box.

make sure you save the bubble wraps or w/e your laptop is wrapped in, it will come in handy tho.
-
I don't think you need it but I keep mine. It's perfect fit when I wanna ship it somewhere.

Mikhail, you do not have to keep the originial box for warranty to be valid. The warranty status would only be checked before they set up for repair service. But you need to pack the Book in any Industrial standard box before delivering the Notebook to FEDEX driver.
Is the original box required for warranty?
